Dad

Postby Joseph the Worker » 03 Mar 2010 5:12 pm

Well...

I'm weirded out. First, my dad called and told me that while visiting someone in the Catholic Hospital, he stopped in the chapel to pray because it was so peaceful and nice.

Secondly, he sent me some chain email today about Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa that included a written prayer that she had done some time during her life and asking for her intercession.

This is the same guy who barely ever goes to Church, when he does he goes to the CoC, and has been very anti-Catholic in the past.

Have you and he been talking about the Catholic Church and our faith a lot recently? Has he been asking a lot of questions? It seems like to me that something (your conversations or God) has opened his eyes a little. He may be doing a little looking into what the Church is all about and found something was missing in his life. I don't know the answers but this would be a great time to sit down and have a serious heart to heart with him. You never know what possibilities my lie in this situation.

Wow! Hehe, I know what you mean about being kinda weirded out when suddenly your family shows signs of not being as anti-Catholic as they once were. Perhaps the Holy Spirit has been working on softening his heart. :)

Yeah we've talked a little, but its more me talking and him listening. We really don't have a closer relationship when it comes to talking about serious things - he's more like a younger brother to me in that regard. It's interesting, nonetheless and I'll be keeping my eye out for what happens. At least I'm thankful that he's lost some of his anti-Catholicism.

Wow! Is there someone else in his life that is or was Catholic?
